About ImageURLConverter
A free, fast, and privacy-respecting tool for turning images into shareable URLs.
Why We Built This
ImageURLConverter started from a simple frustration: getting a direct URL for an image shouldn't require signing up for an account, navigating a cluttered dashboard, or wading through ads just to find a copy button. Existing image hosts either compress your files, slap watermarks on them, or wrap the link in a viewer page stuffed with tracking scripts.
We wanted something better — a single-purpose tool that does one thing well. You upload an image, you get a direct URL, and that URL works everywhere: HTML emails, GitHub READMEs, forum posts, online marketplaces, Slack messages, and anywhere else that accepts a standard image link. No gimmicks, no upsells, no dark patterns.
How It Works
When you upload an image, the file is validated in your browser first — checking format, dimensions, and file size before anything leaves your device. Once validation passes, the image is sent over an encrypted connection to our infrastructure. We store it on Cloudflare R2 with a global CDN that has 300+ edge locations, so your image loads fast for viewers anywhere in the world.
The URL you receive points directly to the image file with correct content-type headers. There's no intermediate viewer page, no redirect, and no JavaScript required to see the image. It just works in any context that supports standard image URLs.
Privacy by Default
We automatically strip EXIF metadata from JPEG uploads. This removes GPS coordinates, camera information, timestamps, and other data that could compromise your privacy. The visual content of the image is unchanged — only the hidden metadata is removed.
Uploaded images are accessible only to people who have the URL. URLs contain a random identifier that's practically impossible to guess. We don't operate a public gallery, and we don't index uploaded images in search engines.
Who Uses ImageURLConverter
- E-commerce sellers on eBay, Craigslist, Etsy, and Facebook Marketplace who need product photo URLs for listings
- Developers embedding screenshots in GitHub issues, pull requests, and README files
- Email marketers hosting images for HTML newsletters in Mailchimp, Klaviyo, and other platforms
- Designers and freelancers sharing mockups and visual assets with clients via a simple link
- Forum and community members posting images in Discord, Slack, Reddit, and other platforms with upload restrictions
- Teachers and students adding visual aids to course materials, presentations, and documents
Supported Formats
We support the four most widely used image formats on the web: JPEG, PNG, GIF (including animated GIFs), and WebP. Each upload can be up to 5 MB in size and up to 10,000 pixels on either dimension. Images are stored exactly as uploaded — no re-encoding, no quality reduction, no format conversion.
Free and Registered Accounts
Anonymous uploads work immediately with no signup. These images are retained for 24 hours, which is enough for most quick-share scenarios. If you create a free account, your images are stored permanently with no expiration, and you get a dashboard to manage and delete your uploads at any time.
